The faculty aims at equipping students with advanced knowledge skills and attitudes to competently and effectively teach English and Chichewa in secondary schools.

The courses in the faculty are designed to develop prospective teachers as facilitators of learning in order to create unlimited opportunities for student’s learning at secondary school level. Therefore, the teachers graduating from the faculty shall be resourceful, creative, innovative, sensitive to learner’s needs, morally sound, role models, and knowledgeable.
