The office of the Deputy Principal (DPL) is established in the NCE Act to assist the Vice Chancellor in performance of her functions. The current DPL is the overall-in-charge of all academic matters in the university.

In that regard, under him are all executive deans of schools, heads of departments, sections and all academic and research staff of the university. The Directorate of Research, Undergraduate Studies and Outreach also serves under the office of the DPL.

The office of the registrar reports to the Deputy principal which  reports directly to the office of the Principal
